Personalized Firearm Purchase... really?

I like money.  If I were a betting man, I would wager that YOU, the reader, like money as much or more than I do!  A big part of Wilco Training Solutions LLC is firearm sales and transfers.  Obviously, this is a money making business.  Likewise, the market for firearm ownership is scheduled to increase as things continue to unwind in the Western Hemisphere.  Let me stop right there and tell you a story about my first pistol purchase…

When I turned 21, I went to a local-ish gun store.  I was bright-eyed and bushy tailed and had absolutely no idea what I wanted. I didn’t know how to put bullets where I wanted them to go, and I didn’t know what it meant to carry a firearm in a Safety & Defense capacity.  Armed with Hollywood knowledge and ignorance, I asked the salesman to ring me up a .45 caliber, semi-automatic pistol and wondered what the next steps would entail.  I knew the federal government was about to get involved and that there were extremely specific laws we were about to navigate.  Again, I was about as ignorant as a baby at a Knicks game.  However, meeting every legal requirement, I was now the proud owner of a powerful firearm that met almost none of my Safety & Defense needs.

My point is, the salesman sold me exactly what I asked for.  He was not the problem.  I did not know what I wanted/needed and it wasn’t the salesman’s job to educate or ask me about my objectives with the firearm.  At Wilco Training Solutions, it IS our job to educate and ask about objectives.  Answers to questions like “How will you be carrying or storing the firearm?”, and “What is the primary use-case for the firearm?” will point our dedicated staff toward a product that makes sense for each individual customer.  For example, if an 85 pound mother of 3 asked for a Full Frame, 10mm caliber pistol to conceal carry in her apple-bottom jeans, we would be sure to highlight that maybe a compact or sub-compact pistol (in a smaller caliber) may better meet her needs.

Ultimately, its none of our business how the shooter intends to use their firearm.  That’s not what this approach is about.  We are a business… but we are in the business of getting our people the things that they need.  We have a litany of questions we want to talk to you about regarding your next firearm purchase and Wilco is personally committed to providing a knowledgeable (not know-it-all), stressless and judgement free (not like Planet Fitness), and friendly (not in a weird way) experience.  Contact Wilco today and we would be honored to help you.
